eclectus parrot

Copyright by Mary HughesItem# C22

This bright painting is of a female Eclectus Parrot. We know it's a female because they tend to be red or predominantly red while the males are mostly green. Their origins are in Australia             , New Guinea, Indonesia and the Solomon Islands.

Eclectus parrots are one of the more popular birds kept in captivity.

While the female is considered dominant and the more aggressive both sexes are also very fond of toys and can be rather acrobatic.
